Budapest: Combining You and a Job Like Buda and Pest

If you want to visit a European city that's truly unique, then you should definitely include Budapest, Hungary in your itinerary. Located in the North-Central region of the country, Budapest is both the capital and largest city of Hungary. The city was formed in 1873 by the merging of the west (Buda) and east (Pest) banks of the Danube River. Budapest was the hub of the country's rebellion against Communist rule. Today, the population of the nation is roughly 1.7 million.

When visiting Budapest, you can find several quality tourist attractions. That includes Castle Quarter, Margaret Island, Museum of Fine Arts, Fishermen's Bastion, Gellert Hill, Castle Palace, Matthias Church, and Hungarian National Museum.

After visiting Budapest, you might decide that you'd like to live and work there as well. However, keep in mind that objective will be much more challenging if you're not a native Hungarian speaker. Many countries in Budapest and other Hungarian cities will only hire those applicants who have a working knowledge of Hungarian.

However, you can still find websites that specialize in jobs  in Budapest for native English speakers. Keep in mind that the number of jobs is significantly lower than those who are fluent in Hungarian. However, if you're willing to do the legwork, then you can find a position that suits your particular needs.

One of the keys to working in Budapest is securing a work visa. While the process isn't extremely difficult, it's more complex than simply applying for a work visa. You'll need to complete the paperwork before arriving in Budapest, and you'll need the assistance of the sponsoring company. It's important to note that there are different application procedures for those applying for non-seasonal and seasonal positions.

Since Hungary is now a member of the European Union, if you're a citizen of another EU country, then you can work in Hungary without needing to secure a work permit. That's definitely an edge in these tough economic times. On the other hand, if you're from a non-EU country, then you'll have to go through the standard procedure for securing a work permit.

Besides searching for Budapest jobs yourself, another option is to go through an agency. They'll have a ton of information about various jobs for foreigners, in Budapest and other Hungarian cities. While you'll need to pay a fee for their services, many people find this service to be worthwhile. It can ultimately save you time, money, and effort.

Finally, consider that Hungary's standard of living is somewhat lower than many other European countries. This could impact your living and working there.

If you're going to stay in a Budapest apartment it's highly recommended that you book the apartment online. This will guarantee you lodging once you arrive in the city.
