Budapest Summer

Don't Be Pestered during Your Summer Vacation in Budapest

If you're hungry to visit a unique European city this summer, then how about Hungary? If you travel through Hungary, then you'll definitely want to visit Budapest. Budapest is both the capital of Hungary, and the country's largest city. It serves as the commercial, political, and cultural center of the nation. In 1873, Budapest became a single city, after the unification of Buda and Pest. Budapest is widely recognized as one of the loveliest cities of Europe.

When visiting Budapest, there are certain sites that you should definitely see. That includes the castle quarter, which symbolizes the epicenter of Budapest's ancient sector. It also overlooks some of the nation's most historical monuments. Amazingly, even though the castle quarter has undergone disasters such as fire, earthquakes and a World War, it continues to be a delight for anyone who visits it. When visiting the medieval monuments, you'll have the feeling that you've walked out of a time machine, into a past time and place.

A particularly interesting section of the castle quarter is the structure that once served as the Royal Palace. Although several sections of the palace were damaged during World War II, they have experienced a revival by taking on new functions, such as museums, a library, and the home of the country's president.

Another must-see tourist spot in Budapest is Andrassy Avenue. France's boulevards inspired the Avenue, while it originally contained an individual lane for gentlemen who were riding their horse. Along with its environs, it creates a cohesive form whose history dates back to the late 1800s. The avenue bears the name of Hungary's former prime minister, as he was influential in transforming Budapest into a genuine metropolis. Structures along Andrassy Avenue include an Opera House and several statues, fountains, and courtyards. However, you simply can't overlook the environs of the Avenue. They include a wide array of architectural styles and fascinating views.

Meanwhile, the villas alongside the Avenue bear names that indicate their designers or past owners. You can also find the East Asiatic Art Museum, which is contained in the past home of a man who gathered most of the displayed artworks.

At the end of Andrassy Avenue you'll find the Millennium Monument, which commemorates the Magyar Conquest's thousandth anniversary. And at the top of the column you can see Archangel Gabriel, while the bottom contains sculptures signifying the seven tribal chieftains.  If you fancy museums, then you'll certainly want to catch some exhibits at the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Palace of Arts. Finally, behind Heroes' Square you'll find City Park, which contains a castle, circus, zoo, funfair, and even a spa!

Before your vacation to Budapest, make sure to book your holiday apartment online so you won't be pestered during your stay in Budapest.
